Welcome to the official Advent of Ascension Wiki, a community project dedicated to providing information on the Advent of Ascension mod. The wiki currently has 3,598 articles and 6,430 files and is maintained by 4 active contributors from the community; everyone is encouraged to contribute.

Wiki note

Due to developmental circumstances, the 1.20.1+ versions of Advent of Ascension are missing most old mobs and dimensions, but reworked forms of old content or new content are being added as the mod keeps up with the latest versions of vanilla Minecraft. The mod is otherwise suitable for survival play with the reworked/new content. Read here for detail on why this change to the development of the mod was made.

As of 1.21.1, the following dimensions are in a state deemed complete: Overworld, The Nether

Additionally, the following dimensions are implemented and playable, but are incomplete in a few certain areas: Nowhere, Precasia

Note: Dimensions deemed 'complete' can still receive new content.

The new content and reworked changes on the wiki will not be present in the latest version before this development change was made: 1.16.5-3.6.11. As it is not feasible to support multiple versions of the mod on this scale, the wiki will document the reworked versions. Content in 1.16.5 will remain documented as they are, unless they are re-added/reworked in the newer versions.

Download and Installation

Latest version: 1.21.1-3.7.13for Minecraft 1.21.1 (Missing most extra-dimensional content, but is usable for survival)

Latest 1.16.5 version: 1.16.5-3.6.11 for Minecraft 1.16.5 (Contains all dimensions as they are, before the reworks)

Advent of Ascension requires one of these mod loaders, depending on the version of Minecraft installed:

Install NeoForge here for Minecraft versions 1.20.4 and up
Install Forge here for all earlier Minecraft versions

After installing the correct mod loader, Advent of Ascension can be installed like any other mod.

Advent of Ascension is only available for Minecraft: Java Edition on Windows, Mac, and Linux, for Minecraft versions 1.20.4, 1.16.5, and others (full list can be found on the versions or download page). Advent of Ascension cannot be installed to any other version of Minecraft: Java Edition or any other edition of Minecraft. Advent of Ascension can also only be installed with NeoForge/Forge; it cannot be installed with Fabric or any other similar mod loader.

About Advent of Ascension

Advent of Ascension (also called Nevermine; abbreviated as AoA) is a large action and adventure mod for Minecraft. The mod was created by Xolova, and is currently being developed by a team of people led by Tslat.

Advent of Ascension is one of the largest mods created for Minecraft, and contains content that covers a large portion of the game. The mod add 21 dimensions, each with its own generation, mobs, blocks, and items. Players can mine ores, locate structures, and battle mobs with various abilities. It also adds many armor sets, with most granting special abilities, and a large selection of weapons, ranging from melee weapons like swords, to ranged weapons such as bows, guns, and staves. In addition, it adds skills and resource systems, which are an entirely new type of content not seen in the vanilla game. These can be trained by completing various activities, granting new benefits and abilities such as increased health, increased damage for certain weapons, or the ability to plant new types of crops. The mod has no official end objective, and progression is flexible, allowing players to play how they choose.

Mod Additions

Dimensions: Information on the mod's 21 dimensions, ranging from island dimensions to cavern worlds.
Blocks: Information about the mod's blocks, including decorative, utility, and terrain blocks.
Items: Items used for crafting, trading, and various other purposes.
Weapons: Equipment used for dealing damage, split between 13 weapon types. These include vanilla weapon types (e.g.: swords, bows) and new types (e.g.: greatblades, guns, staves).
Tools: Equipment used for harvesting materials, with many having special abilities.
Armor: Equipment that grants protection and special abilities when worn.
Mobs: Information on the mobs found throughout the mod.
NPCs: Traders and ambient NPCs that can be found throughout the mod.
Bosses: Stronger enemies which are generally optional, but can drop valuable loot.
Enchantments: Information on the mod's new enchantments, most of which are used for its new weapon types.
Status Effects: Temporary effects that can be beneficial or detrimental.
Easter eggs: Information on certain secrets in the mod.

Advent GUI: The main hub GUI for the mod, accessed by pressing the delete key (by default). Displays skills, abilities, mob statistics, and more.
Skills: Skills that can be trained to unlock a variety of new abilities.
Resource Systems: Resource systems used for various purposes, such as using skill abilities or firing weapons.
Structures: Buildings that can be encountered in the dimensions.
Advancements: Goals that can be reached by visiting dimensions, battling bosses, or completing other tasks.
Commands: Information on the command that can be used to edit skill levels, resource levels, and more.
Gamerules: Per-world settings that can change certain aspects of the mod.
Configuration: Information on the capabilities and structure of the configuration file.
Third-Party Mod Integration: Information on special interaction with certain other mods.
Vanilla changes: Changes to the base game that allow the mod to work as intended.

Datapackable and resourcepackable content: Content in Advent of Ascension can be edited with a datapack or resource pack just like vanilla Minecraft content can. Some content in the mod that is not based on anything in vanilla can also be edited with a datapack or resource pack. This page shows a list of such content.

The future of Advent of Ascension

Advent of Ascension is still receiving updates to this day, with the current plan being to add new content, or re-add old content like mobs and dimensions in a significantly improved/reworked state.

The mod is currently being developed for Minecraft 1.21.1. Versions before 1.21.1 will no longer be receiving updates.

While the mod is out for 1.21.1, it currently does have a smaller amount of accessible mobs and dimensions. Despite this, checking out the content that is available in 1.21.1 that has been updated in a creative test world or a survival world is encouraged, for the sake of feedback and testing.
